Making Contact in the Here and Now

Perls constantly indicated that the past and future are in the here and now, the precious present. This workshop will integrate the native American Medicine Wheel with Gestalt principles to create a model for supporting the client, coach and/or therapist to be fully present with each other. This addresses the often experienced "ping-pong" effect of jumping back and forth from the past and future, rather than resting in the present to make complete contact.
This workshop is designed for coaches and other professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Understand the "here and now" in more depth;
- Recognize that the past and future create a tension seeking resolution;
- Experience how centering enables the present to be the container for releasing unfinished business; and
- Experience how idealism, dreams, daydreams, and fantasies while under stress can interfere with being present when dealing with unfinished business.
